Same old, same old.

Dance Dance Revolution Universe is your same DDR you've known - dance, dance!
Now the MSRP on this is $80 - fun game, but I believe it isn't worth $80. Maybe $60 - $70, but not $80.
The dancing part is fun, but you're dancing to some odd Japanese techno - what the heck? There's a few English songs like Magic Carpet Ride, Every Time We Touch, Feels Just Like It Should - and for those older gamers, the Castlevania theme song.
There's Quest Mode, which is almost forgettable, and Challenges, with a few near-impossible ones at that.
This game keeps track of how many calories you burned dancing - neat feature, but unfortunately it's hard to keep exact track due to the fact there's a bug - if you don't play for a day, the game says you burned 40 or so calories that day.
Party game? Maybe. But you'd be smarter to use that $80 into your Guitar Hero II investment.

Going through troubles on ONI
Hint by DarkChaos319 on August 25, 2007 | report this hint
If you have trouble with ONI or EXPERT difficulty, you can cheat - connect a controller instead of the dance pad and press the buttons instead of dancing! The best way to hold it is to put your right hand's index on A, middle on B; use your left hand's index for X, middle for Y. When the notes come up, mash away for a mega score.
This takes away the point of the game and its fun, though, so be warned.
