Dark Cloud 2: Zelda Killer?
Reviewed by Liquidd on January 12, 2008 | report this review
Dark Cloud 2 is one of those rare gems whereby the sequel surpasses the original. Dark Cloud lacked an interesting story, amiable characters, and sported a lackluster graphics style, yet somehow garnered a small niche of fans on the PS2. Dark Cloud 2 boasts nice cel shaded style animation graphics, a decent (albeit humorous at times) story, better building and customization, and interesting characters. Everything from the animation to the advanced customization was redone in DC2 and the end result is an enjoyable romp through a fantastic world shaped by Max and his friends.
In my honest opinion, the game's whimsical feel is a bit "kiddie", but let's face it the Zelda series isn't exactly hardcore either, but look at it's success. DC2 tries to bring about a similar feel to it's fans, but only moderately achieves it's goal. All in all, gameplay is smooth, fun, has lots of sidequests, and decent replay value. But if you like the Zelda series then this game is probably as close to that series as PS2 is ever going to get.
For "kid factor' the game gets high marks, but in the end everyone in the family will enjoy this game. I recommend it for any gaming library.

How to get the best weapons in the game
Hint by SpinBang on August 09, 2007 | report this hint
After you get enough medals from the different levels and recruit Mayor Need to the train, he sells cool items and clothing that you can't get anywhere else. If you buy a name-change ticket, you can change the name of your weapons. If you change the name to the name of another weapon, it will transform into that weapon!!
