Monkey Ball franchise failing
Reviewed by BrandonAnders on January 20, 2008 | report this review
I've been a monkey ball devotee since it first appeared on the cube --
this version promised to be intuitive with the controls, which it mostly is. The main game levels are fun and challenging, and the wii remote does do a superb job at controlling the monkey.
Outside of playing the main levels, the game is quirky. It seems as though the developers did not do much testing - between levels it is not very easy to pick which level to play - you cant really tell what you've beaten and what you haven't. you can't go back a screen in most cases, so if you made a mistake, bettter restart the software.
Ah, mini games. 50 exciting games? Past monkey ball games have had just a few, but very fun, mini games. Most of the ones I tried on Banana Blitz were bogus. My favorite in past editions is definately monkey target -
Monkey target is included but it is very sub-par and disappointing
This game is worth renting or borrowing - it is fun playing the main game with the intuitive wii remote, but its replayability or party game value is not very high.
