Super Smash Bros. Melee

Why are Ice Climber and Donkey Kong fighting each other? Because this is SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MELEE, and that's what they're supposed to do! Choose any of Nintendo's classic characters including Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Yoshi, Kirby, and many of the more obscure personas from the company's history then try to beat the crud out of the other ones. The premise is simple enough, but the gameplay and graphics take fighting games to a whole new level. More About Super Smash Bros. Melee.

A Super step up from N64!

Reviewed by AZabko on April 08, 2008  |  report this review

Now, don't get me wrong; Super Smash Bros. on N64 will always go down as one of the best games on that system, and one of the premier fighting games ever. But this updated version simply knocks it out of the park. The graphics are cleaner and sharper, there is a better(albeit still fairly limited) first-player mode, and, most importantly, there's a whole lot more stuff to play with. New stages, new items, and a bunch of new characters add so much more variety to the mix. I won't go into the details of the hidden things to unlock, but rest assured there is a good amount of stuff to find, and you'll spend hours upon hours getting it all. This is a highly recommended game for those who never played the original, and an automatic yes to anyone who played the first game and was hungry for more.
