In most racing games, you avoid crashing your car in order to win the race.. but in this game, its the exact opposite!
Crash into your opponents cars to gain maximum amount of points! It's downright fun, addicting and crazy!
Buy this game, its a classic!

Fast cars, spectacular crashes, and the ability to knock another car into the river side? This game is a must buy, even if you don't like racing games.
Great all around

this is the gold standard racing game. only complaint is that there is no music in split screen. kinda weird.
Holy mother of... CRASH
This game has spectacular crashes and you can even control your banged up peice of metal while its destroyed and flying in the air, possibly to take some of your opponents with you. This is no cheap cheap game, looks like people spent a great deal of time on it.
Best. Racer. Ever.

I've played most of the games in this series, and this is by far my favorite. It has so many redeeming values that I would be sad to see it go.
The action is fast-paced, but just slow enough to keep you in-tune with what's going on. I like how you can get nitro just by tailgating someone, then use that nitro to ram them off the road.
The graphics are pretty good for an Xbox game, and even when there are little imperfections, you'll barely notice them because of all the debris flying around you. I really like the soundtrack, and I just wish that every game with EA Trax in it had as good a selection as this.
The multiplayer is really fun, and you could kill an entire day just by crashing into each other, and you and your friends would be laughing and having fun with it. This is my idea of a near-perfect game. If Flatout had graphics and detail as good as Burnout 3, and still keeps the ragdoll physics for the drivers, that would be my perfect driving game.
Very Fun

A celebration of crashes
Burnout 3 is a celebration of reckless driving dreams. It rewards players for swerving through oncoming traffic, applauds knocking opponents off cliffs, and ultimately begs the question, how long can I last while driving recklessly through crowded streets of Seattle or San Francisco.
While the previous entries in the series have embraced the same destructive qualities, developer Criterion Games has overhauled the engine, applied a new coat of paint, and tuned Burnout 3 to the point that it roars with excitement and makes its predecessors feel like dreary driver’s education tutorials. Criterion has expanded upon the series’ gameplay significantly to create one of the most addictive racing games of all time.
Criterion has even gone to great lengths to recompense gamers for the damage that they inflict upon their opponents. When you wallop another driver with enough force or railroad them into a no-win situation, the game will pan away from your car to show your opponent’s ride breaking apart, catching fire, and getting totaled with brilliant Matrix-like slow-motion effects. In a stroke of brilliance, Criterion has also implemented gameplay into wrecking. When your ride gets totaled, players have the choice to enter Impact Time – a segment presented in slow-motion which allows players to maneuver their demolished car until it comes to a stop. With this, a flaming wreck that was destined to rest on a rail can be moved to the center of the road in hopes of clipping the competition.
The action in Burnout 3 unfolds in a number of ways. In total, players will be asked to achieve a medals in a staggering 173 events spread throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Far East. Achieving medals will unlock new vehicles, tracks, and different racing series. Players will also be rewarded with newspaper headlines, signature crash photographs, videos of a new series of cars, and trophies for achieving certain things during races getting 20 takedowns without crashing once. From elimination heats and time trials to circuits and road rage events competitions, you’ll find yourself competing in just about every event that the racing genre can bring to the table. Of course, the popular Crash Mode makes a triumphant return and has been reworked to offer bigger pile-ups and magnificent blinding explosions. In my opinion, this is the heart and soul of this game. I couldn’t stop playing these events. I just kept plowing my car into vehicles to try and create larger chain reactions and higher damage totals. Watching your car slam into a fuel tanker, which in turn sends a dozen vehicles and debris hurling into the air, is one of gaming’s best spectacles. A celebration of speed crashes and pile-ups.
what a awsome game

There are five play modes, including two race modes and three crash modes. Before play starts, players choose their vehicle based on its speed and weight. In the race modes, the player gains "boost" by driving in the oncoming traffic lanes, narrowly avoiding traffic, and by causing competitors' cars to crash (called a "Takedown"). In "Race" mode, the object is to win the race around the track like a standard racing game, while in the "Road Rage" mode, the player must takedown a set number of computer-controlled opponents.
In the crash mode, the player is not racing opponents on a track. Instead, in each crash attempt, the player races at high speeds towards an intersection and tries to do as much monetary damage to the vehicles there as possible, while collecting cash and multiplier bonuses. The three crash modes are very similar. In some, you drive alone, in others you crash as a team with a combined score, etc., but the goal of doing the most damage remains the same.
In any mode, medals are awarded for achieving certain scores. These medals are used to unlock hidden tracks and vehicles.
Burnout 3 features 173 different events in the offline mode, and 67 cars to unlock, including a City Bus, Fire Truck, and Garbage Truck for use in the Crash mode. There is also online play where up to six players can compete in a race, and eight players can compete in a Crash event. In online races, there is less aggression than in single player. Racers must focus on good drifts and avoiding traffic, not just takedowns, in order to win. This gives the online mode a different feel from single player. There is a racing variant known as Road Rage where players are divided into two teams. The blue team receives a three second head start and must drive a certain number of miles without being eliminated by being taken down. The red team attempts to takedown the blue team before they reach the finish line.
Very Fun!
