It's Doom...Kinda...Mixed With Bad Horror

The original Doom was the first FPS I ever played. Although I did get dizzy playing it, I really loved it. It was simple and yet so violent but never truely frightening. This is where Doom 3 tries to go and I just dont appricate it. Yes, the graphics in this game are outstanding, however, the story isn't quite what you remember. Infact, a lot of the demons are simular to the zombie type villian. The thing that really gets me is at first, this game will scare you! It was awesome! But then, it's tries the same tricks to scare you again. Low lighting, spooky sounds, and creatures popping out to get you, they all become trite. This isn't excactly the frag fun of the first two titles, or the Nintendo 64 title for that matter. Nevertheless, it still is a decent game.

Atmospheric Horror

This First Person Shooter shies away from run and gun Halo mayhem and tends more towards spooky horror, drawing from a disturbing atmosphere, claustrophobic maps, and gotcha-enemy spawing. Think Half-life, not Halo.

Doom3 looks good, plays good, feels good, and runs good.

Problem? It's not scary enough, far too many GOTCHA moments, and not enough real horror. Violence is used too much to make things scary, and overall, Doom 3 is a tad brainless, I still recommend it though.

this game becomes is not even scary in like about half way through level one its so obvious where they come out from and like the weapons are just like in front of you in level one and like to me its exactly like the other doom games and its the exact last boss on everyone of these games,but still the grapichs are good and its easy.also you have to back track every single time its good but sucky i give this game a four outa five.

its a really good game that is fun to play offline and online with a good story its scary sometimes like in the begining but then other times your supposed to look in a certain area and if you dont you just play it like a normal game with no suprises but its good overal
