This game, like its predecessor, paints an original story set in the Fullmetal Alchemist world. Edward Elric, the main character of the animated series, serves as main character, but also taking a central role is a set of original characters designed exclusively for the game. Gameplay follows up on what was featured in the original title. The card-based alchemy system returns, allowing players to show off their alchemy skills. Cards have three parameters associated with them: mass, value and card level. The result of a card combination is a card with higher parameters, meaning access to more powerful alchemy techniques. The battle system from the original also returns, but with many new features. In addition to greater overall ability in alchemy techniques, battles allow for combos if you input attacks with good timing.
