Monkey Ball Review

This game is a must buy for all Monkey Ball fans. Some of the mini-games are extremely fun and addicting, but other are just plain dumb. The story mode is fun, but gets extremely difficult after the 5th world. Overall, it's a solid Wii launch title.

This game is such an addicting game. I was debating what should be my first wii game, as wii sports is still sooo much fun, and I finally decided on this game after gamespot reviewed it and gave like a 8.2. The videos on gamespot are what set it apart for me. The single player game is super addicting even for people who normally do not game. I am a techy type person and appreciate the high-techness of the way you control the ball in the single player mode.
As said before, the levels get really hard around world 5, however after around 10 hours of gameplay, i only had 3 levels left in world 8, then i decided to trade it to EBGames (bad mistake), however i would reccommend this game to anyone who is looking for a fun, addicting, single player game that actually has depth.
Too much variety.... -.-

This is a good game. It recieved a graphics makeover, and has a new revolutionary way of playing. Amazingly, it works great. The lack of camera control can really screw you up though. But what kind of sucks is the variety of difficulty.Worlds 1-4 are easier than pie, but levels 5+ are way to hard. Maybe if there was a smaller, more spread out difficulty change, it would work out better. Boss battles are pretty fun.
Multiplayer is where the large variety kicks in. All the games make use of the controller in a unique way. Unfortunatly, a big handful of them don't have good controls at all. On the other hand, some are amazing. You need to play all the minigames to learn which rock and which suck.
Overall, the story mode is great, but the difficulty change is too sudden. The multiplayer games have way to much variety in playability, but the ones that work are great.
Bouncing monkeyballs

The single player game is too short, the controls work great in the single player.
The multiplayer has too many games, with too little time spent developing them. 50% of the games are completely useless because the controls simply do not work.
Namely, whack-a-mole, frisbee golfing, monkey golf, and several others.
I will however probably hang onto this game, as it is good drunken fun with a bunch of friends since the mini games are so short, everyone can get a turn - so long as you let everyone know to avoid the games that have useless controls.

This is one must have Wii game, whether you are a child, or 50! People of all ages can enjoy it!
There is a great single player mode, which generally lasts a decent while. The Controls in the single player are AWESOME, and feel very refreshing. After playing this game, you will never be able to go back to inferior analog [monkey ball] control.
The graphics are decent, and so is the soundtrack. No real need for HD Graphics here.
And on top of all this, there are a bunch of great Mini Games to keep you occupied. Sure, there are some bad ones, but there are more than enough good ones to make up for it. This party mode feature is also great with friends!
You'll be playing this game for a while, and will have a great time with it! I suggest toy get it now.
A MUST

If you liked the other monkey balls or even thought that they would seem fun then you should get this. The one player is fun but also gets very difficult as you get father even though the controls are so simple. Having 50 party games is great and lots of fun with other people or even by yourself. If you liked wii boxing you better buy this game and try monkey boxing because you can move around the ring now. Some games are very simple and don't use up any energy at all but other games get you tired in less than 25 seconds (Hurdle Racing) It is pretty much fun for anyone. I have played this with people that are 5 years old and my age 14 and even up to the age of 25 and they all enjoy it tremendously.
Broken controls spoil all the fun.

I would have to agree with the current rating strongly. I bought this game the day that Wii was released, hoping to have a great time. I invited some friends over and we began to play. Everyone, almost instantly, hated the game. People got frustrated over the bonky and unresponsive controls. The mini games are very confusing, some I still don't get. This game was a dissappointment and I suggest you get a better party game like wario or mario party. Deffinately not money well spent.
Monkey Ball franchise failing

I've been a monkey ball devotee since it first appeared on the cube --
this version promised to be intuitive with the controls, which it mostly is. The main game levels are fun and challenging, and the wii remote does do a superb job at controlling the monkey.
Outside of playing the main levels, the game is quirky. It seems as though the developers did not do much testing - between levels it is not very easy to pick which level to play - you cant really tell what you've beaten and what you haven't. you can't go back a screen in most cases, so if you made a mistake, bettter restart the software.
Ah, mini games. 50 exciting games? Past monkey ball games have had just a few, but very fun, mini games. Most of the ones I tried on Banana Blitz were bogus. My favorite in past editions is definately monkey target -
Monkey target is included but it is very sub-par and disappointing
This game is worth renting or borrowing - it is fun playing the main game with the intuitive wii remote, but its replayability or party game value is not very high.
