A must for any Paper Mario Fan

This game is awesome. Play with Mario and have pixles help you with special abilities. And best YOU CAN FLIP FROM 2D TO 3D! This aspect makes the game. I was kinda disappointed that the battle system wasn't turn based as in the past games and that Mario didn't get a hammer but the active gameplay is really cool. You stuck? Flip. You want to discover all the secrets? FLIP. You want to play the game of awesomeness? BUY OR TRADE!
Great, but Short

Aside from being deemed an RPG, Super Paper Mario falls more along the lines of a Side-Scroller with a lot of dialog. That's probably why the game can easily be beaten under 10 hours. This shortness of the game is the only downside. Nintendo has created a very innovative game that is fun, and keeps you wondering. Somehow after many many games Nintendo has found a way to make Mario fun once again. You'll travel across many different world flipping back and forth from 2D and 3D. You'll join your friends, and come across enemies you know, and others that are quite new. The use of fairy beings called Pixls adds special abilities to your characters, and the option to use items for weapons also adds a little zest. Though sometimes bogged with lots of dialog, usually it's quite comical or pertains to the story in an interesting way. Super Paper Mario is a must for those looking to unite their old love of Super Mario Bros, with hints of an RPG.

You also get pixels which help u threw the story line. I give this game a 5 out of 5. So if u have the Wii go buy this game you will like iT!
Psychedelic Game-Play!!

When I opened this game and popped it in the console, it had me entranced with the all psychedelics and all the new trippy characters! This game is a must-buy if you are a nintendo kid!! I'm still playing it right now, and I'm not sure if I want to trade it EVER, but I thought I would let you know that I think this game is bad-ass!! It brings back a little nostalgia...
why nintendo, why.

I loved all the paper mario games so I was psyched to get the wii version, I knew I wanted it when I saw the commercial. to my surprise. there is not one drop of rpg aspect, which completely pissed me off. I don't care what you say, just because you have stats, doesnt mean its an rpg. Leveling hardly matters. you can make it through the game without stopping to gain some levels.
Next thing. I try to convince my friends nintendo isnt just for kiddies. I try to tell them theres a 'cool' side to nintendo. But as I progress through the story I'm flooded with a childish story line. I thought collecting stars made nintendo look a little on the soft side, but come on. Pure Hearts? That just screams "im not manly enough to play gears of war, im going to go collect a purple pure heart" Now don't get me wrong, I like nintendos colorfulness, it gives a break from the damp catacombs of a mindless shooter. But give me break.
The graphics were the best thing about the game. Everything is lush and detailed and done very well. The whole 2d 3d was innovative and cool to use. The roads to the pure hearts were cool too. each one a little different than the last and well thought out.
Overall I was very disapointed. Its a good game in certain aspects but we need more than just a bonk on the head as a battle system.
Kudos to you, Nintendo

This game was pretty good. The graphics are original and innovative. I liked them because the characters would switch between 2-D and 3-D. The gameplay was fun, but not at it's fullest value. There was pixls, switching between dimensions, and playing as Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi. However, I think there should be more than just the RPG part. Maybe there should have been mini-games, a multiplayer feature, or something where you could move the Wii Remote around, instead of holding it sideways, and pressing the buttons. I just think it needed some pizazz like that. The storyline was hilarious. (SPOILERS) I loved the part where you participated in a game show to figure out which person was real and which wasa fake (SPOILER ENDING). In conclusion, this game is an excellent addition to your Wii collection.

This game is going to take a long time to pass it without a strategy guide i don;t think that a 8 year old could pass it but they gave it a 9 out of ten this game is a buy this is the best paper mario so far and you get to unlock characters and also the fighting is interesting with the remotes the boss stages are really easy when u find the way to kill the opponent the hard thing is the flipping but this game is very hard it is a over 60 hour game

A mile stone in Mario games

This game has to be one of the most inovative games in the Mario series I have ever seen. Not only does it provide a classic 2-D platformer style, but enables you to go into the third dimension. This game is sure to show people the true meaning of a good game on the Wii. If you don't own a copy of this game, then you're missing out.

Flopside pit of 100 trials - Few tips

I completed the game 2 weeks ago. I collected all the catch cards, cooked all recipes and completed all challenges. Of course the Flopside pit of 100 trials it takes the longest to complete, since you have to do it twice. The nice part about it is that you can save your game after you complete the 1st round.
If you like old school Mario, this is for you.

This game is listed as an RPG; but aside from the ability to roam and buy items, this game plays like the old side-scrolling Mario games from the past. You do have the ability to enter the 3rd dimension, but most of the game is spent in good old 2d. The story line could be better, but the gameplay is classic. The ability to play as different characters will remind you of SMB2, without Toad.
My only complaint is that this game does not really take full advantage of the wii's capabilities. You do point the wiimote at the screen a few times, but most of the time, you hold it like an old school controller.
Very Fun Great 2-D 3-D capabilities

I have never played a previous paper mario game before but This one is AMAZING! Being able to flip between 2-D and 3-D adds an extra element to the gameplay. It has an exciting story line to it. I would suggest getting the guide otherwise it is so hard if I didnt have the guide I would still be on the first level instead of almost being done. The different abilities of the main characters and being able to switch between them at any time makes gameplay more fun and exciting. The only downside to this game is the immense amount of reading you have to do. Every level has a huge amount of reading but if you dont mind then I would highly recommend this game!

Must-Have Wii game
Reviewed by Smaug317 on December 08, 2007 | report this review
Super Paper Mario takes a step away from the other Paper Mario games. No more turn based battles. That's right, platforming Paper Mario! What could be better? Now now you RPG lovers, the game still has plenty of RPG qualities. (Health, Leveling up, switching characters and magic which in this game are "Pixels.") The gameplay is very innovative, fun, fresh, and keeps changing to keep you playing. It's amazing how crisp, clean, colorful graphics look so good. The sound is a nice assortment from Mario's gaming past. The story, while a little bland is still entertaining. The dialogue is perhaps one of the games best parts. From the Super Nerd Travis to the Queen of the Underwhere.
Lasting thought? If you own a Wii and don't have this game, there is something wrong with you. Get it now.
NOW.
Why are you still here reading this? Get it NOW!

I thoroughly enjoyed this game.
From the characters banding together for a common goal to the pixls, everything is beautifully detailed in a classic Nintendo way.
I definitely would recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenge. While it isn't impossible to beat, it sure has its times.
If you own the Wii, you really should go out and get this game. Must have.
Great....Overall

I was extremely addicted to this game for the first three days that i had it. Infact, I beat it in only 3 days. For the most part Super Paper Mario was fun and at sometimes a little stressful, but the one thing that I just couldn't get over is the fact that the fighting differed so much from the GC game. In thousand year door the fighting had more of an organized rpg strategy game feel. This version pretty much stuck to the classic "Jump on it" attacks. Now I am a mario freak, ( I even have the italian mushroom man tattooed on me) so I have to say It was well worth playing and You would have to be a fool not to play it.................. (maybe just rent it)
The game was a little dissapointing.

I was hoping for a RPG style game much like Paper Mario TTYD. This game wasn't an RPG at all and an adventure style game instead. But other then that the game was very fun. The wacky yet fun storyline was very appealing.

I just can't resist playing this game!!! It's full with action, suspense and many other great factors! Playing in 2d also in 3d is amazing. See new sights, ways to get pass the level and cool items. The battles are less dramatic then the first paper mario but are quick and easy so you can get on with the adventure. Battle many bosses, get weird and crazy pixls and play as peach, luigi, bowser and of course mario!!! I give this a five hands down!!!
