It's safe to say the wait for this game was well worth it. Older characters have received upgraded moves/looks and newer characters have a natural Smash Bros feel to them. Nice. Assist Trophies have been added as well as new items that bonders your mind why they didn't make it before. Adventure Mode actually has a storyline, and there are now well over 500 trophies. But the two features that easily shadows the rest is the fact you can play online against friends or strangers and the final smash. This final smash is obtainable from breaking a smash ball and varies among characters. This game is probably the best ever released for the Wii. Sure, Twilight Princess is a all-time favorite, but 60 hrs playtime to that and compare it to the 700+ hrs put into Brawl and you'll see what I mean.

The best fighting game since mortal kombat!!!

Reviewed by joker21player on March 14, 2008  |  report this review

this games doesnt seem to ever get boring! with all kinds of characters to chose from and every one of them has their very own uniqe fighting style! whats more improved from the its past, (melee),is a 2-player story mode,2-player stadium, and 2-player events!!! also helped me play with friends that moved with online battling!!! dont got any friends, well you can still play players arond the world or watch other people brawl it out as you bet coins to someone you think will win. The only problem you'll face is online play with other people, it can get pretty laggy sometimes that mess up combos or even get you K-O'd, but hey, other than that, this is a game that will never be unlocked on my list

Best Wii game

Reviewed by flashy93 on March 23, 2008  |  report this review

This is definitely the best Wii game out right now. There's just too much to do. You start the game with all your favorite characters, and you can still unlock more. And the story mode is great for trying out all the characters and seeing which you're most comfortable with. And the online just makes the game never get boring. I know this game will never leave my Wii.

This game is amazing in almost all aspects. Of course you can say they could do this a little bette and that a little better but all in all this game is almost perfect. There are so many more characters and they are so different (in a good way) then the earlier games. So I would give this game a 9.5/10.

Amazing Game!!

Since it was announced in '07, I've been carefully following all the details scattered around the internet and, of course, from the daily weekday updates on the Smash Bros Dojo. From what I had read, the game already sounded amazing, but no amount of information can prepare you for this game! It's INCREDIBLE!! It has everything that made the previous games great, and then makes it better! The creator, Sakurai, really listened to what people were saying, even the tiniest details, like an "all off/on" option on the item screen, or allowing players to more easily catch thrown items! I don't want to say too much and ruin the game for anyone, so I'll finish by saying this... GO OUT AND GET THIS GAME!!!

I think this game is better than the other super smash bros. games. New characters are in the game such as Wario, Meta Knight, and Wolf. Also returning characters like Kirby,Fox,Captain Falcon,Samus, and even Pikachu. Not to mention even the stages like Final Destination I think.

Platinum Hit!

Reviewed by Wii-man on April 05, 2008  |  report this review

Let me start out by saying, Platinum is achieved only if 1 million copies are sold in it's first 2 weeks of release; Brawl, however, sold 1.4 million copies within 1. Yes, I was there for it's midnight release, and let me tell you, this game is the best I have ever played. Incredibly fun, very addicting, and it will stay this way for many, many years to come. I advise any Wii owners who do not own Brawl to immediately stop reading this, and GO BUY BRAWL! If you cant find it, keep searching. If you are still reading this even when I specifically told you to stop reading, you're wasting time. Now go! I won't tell you again....yeah that's right, you better keep walking. In fact don't walk away, run away. That'll make up the time you are wasting reading this because I know you're still reading. End.

Best Wii Game... So Far...

Reviewed by Jonh352 on April 06, 2008  |  report this review

If you own a Wii, then you have to get this game!! There is just too much in this game! It kind of blows you away when you first get it and start exploring what there is in the game. There is a ridiculously large amount of characters to choose from and even more things to collect. Stickers, trophies, music, there's just too much! It also includes challenge modes and a huge story mode as well. It's just mind blowing!! There's even online play with multiple modes as well. There's an unlimited replay value on this game!! Just too much stuff to do. Well worth the $50 for the game, so if you don't have it go out and get it NOW!!

Well Worth the Cost!!

This game was well worth the delay's and the cost. The game was completly expanded from melee introducing many more characters. The big reason why I bought a Wii was for this game, and it was worth it! The graphics have been updated, a storyline has been added, and the best part of it all, is the online mode. Playing with people around the world instead of just your friends is a whole knew experience. If you are debating on whether or not to get this game, get it. It will change your life!!! XD

Overall best

Reviewed by Mike0005 on April 12, 2008  |  report this review

The wait for this game was long and painful for some, but most are saying that it was well worth it.

The game plays exactly like the last two, you fight opponents trying to knock them off the screen. The more damage an opponent (or you) have the farther they fly back when you hit them. Some of the more significant differences in game play is the addition of powerful items, and the Final Smash. Which is used by breaking a smash ball. Each character has his/her own Final Smashes

A new element is the inclusion of third party characters. Namely Konami's Solid Snake and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog.

Graphics are little improved over the Gamecube's graphics

The inclusion of online multiplayer is a new addition to the series, and probably one of the most important improvements. You can battle "With Anyone" which select opponents at random or "With Friends" where you need to exchange friendcodes prior to playing.

Overall, this game is one of the best on the Wii, if not the best.

I love this game! I love the new characters, new stages, and the super expanded story mode. If u haven't played this game yet, go and rent it! All the controls are pretty easy (I prefer the GCN remote) and playing against 3 of ur friends is hectic and great. I don't know what else to say but go play this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

goddam frucking expansion, not a new game

Reviewed by airsoft326 on May 09, 2008  |  report this review

Super Smash titles have always been great. So I'm not saying that this is a bad game at all. I downloaded a program for windows computers called FPS creator, and learned about prefabs and entities and models. After taking lessons and tutorials about graphic design, etc, I realized how PATHETIC is was that THIS was the wii's most anticipated title. It is merely an expansion to Melee that not only takes removes great parts from the original, but also has the NERVE to recycle successful moves from other players.
Metaknight (my favorite character) is a perfect example of this. His B is a modified, reskinned, retextured, re-animated knockoff of Mario's old down-B spin attack. His down-b is also a knockoff, but this time, it is of Mewtwo's up-B teleport. Brawl innovates nothing. And if you think that this a completely new addition to anything, then you are dumb.
