Dark Cloud 2 is an amazing RPG

This game is one of the greatest adventure RPG's out there. I got this game for my birthday a few years ago and it's still a game I play today. Every adventure RPG gamer needs this game in his library.
Graphics: The graphis in this game are very unique. The world around you is all 3D, with really great detail and variety. Houses and Towns look different and unique, each town has it's own theme. The characters look like cartoons, but they move and are rotated like 3D characters. The cutscenes, especially the opening to the game looks great.
Overall the graphics to this game are really well done, but some gamers might not like the way the characters look
Sound: The sound in this game is awesome. The voice-overs especially are VERY well done in this game, this game is a perfect example of hose voice overs should be. Theres a wide variety of music for each area of the game.
Overall the sound and music in this game are very well put together, and I doubt you'll ever want to turn the sound down.
Storyline: The storyline in this game is very well planned out. Basically you're Maxamillion, a 15-year old inventor who lives in the quaint town of Palm Brinks. The night of the circus, you find out the clown leaders evil plots, and then he comes after you and you have to hide and discover the outside world. This is where your adventure begins. Basically you're trying to stop this powerful ruler that has the ability to destroy the history to affect the future, and you have to restory history so they're able to fight him in the future. There are lots of interesting things that happen along the way, like how Max's mom ties into the story, and what Griffin (the powerful ruler) really is.
Overall the storyline to this game is really well planned out, and it'll definetly keep you interested. It's not just fighting and advancing.
GamePlay: This game absolutely rules. You control Max and Monica, and you can switch between the two whenever you want. You also have a Ridepod, which is like a robot that you can customize with different parts to fight in the dungeon. The biggest unique feature with this game is the photography/invention system. You take pictures around town, and you find ideas in the pictures, like when you take pictures of certain things. When you put three ideas together, you can invent something. There are a ton of things you can invent, from battle items to clothes and fishtanks.
The second thing is the Georama system. In order to restore the world that Griffin has destroyed, you have to fight in the dungeon to find stones that let you build new parts.
This game is amazing
Dark Cloud 2: Zelda Killer?

Dark Cloud 2 is one of those rare gems whereby the sequel surpasses the original. Dark Cloud lacked an interesting story, amiable characters, and sported a lackluster graphics style, yet somehow garnered a small niche of fans on the PS2. Dark Cloud 2 boasts nice cel shaded style animation graphics, a decent (albeit humorous at times) story, better building and customization, and interesting characters. Everything from the animation to the advanced customization was redone in DC2 and the end result is an enjoyable romp through a fantastic world shaped by Max and his friends.
In my honest opinion, the game's whimsical feel is a bit "kiddie", but let's face it the Zelda series isn't exactly hardcore either, but look at it's success. DC2 tries to bring about a similar feel to it's fans, but only moderately achieves it's goal. All in all, gameplay is smooth, fun, has lots of sidequests, and decent replay value. But if you like the Zelda series then this game is probably as close to that series as PS2 is ever going to get.
For "kid factor' the game gets high marks, but in the end everyone in the family will enjoy this game. I recommend it for any gaming library.
