Best Racing Game Ever

Reviewed by o_cardenas87 on October 27, 2006  |  report this review

This game is by far the best racing game for the PS2. This as close to driving as your going to get without actually going in a car. The graphics are great and there are over 600 cars and around 100 tracks you can race in. If you haven't played any of the games from the Gran Turismo Franchise this is one of the best.

For simulation gamers

Great game for people who enjoy simulation games. Not for the arcade buff!

I think that there were over 700 cars in this game, so that should keep you busy for a long time.

I didn't like: HD graphics, 1080i showed too many jaggies.

I did like: that I could drive almost any car released on Earth.

Some of the driving was boring, but other than that I would recommend this game to any car enthusiast, or someone interested in simulation racing.

Great Driving Simulator

This is no hold the gas and go game. It takes skill, attention and practice to get the hang of it. Really fun, great graphics, good sound track and a wide selection of automobiles to choose from. This is Gran Turismo we are talking about, not Need for Speed. These guys get the specs for the cars the handling characteristics on the money. They actually test drive the real cars to get it right. Maybe not ever car, but a good percentage. They work with the manufactures of these cars too, so the mods available for each car in the game does not exceed the capabilities of the motor and chassis. Also so the performance increse for each mod is in sync with actual performnce increase data. Thats what makes Gran Turismo such a successful series, the realism. And thats why I own them all (except GT3, what were they thinking with that one?) Racers will hate it - Drivers will love it.

i really loved the new fast forward feature good for racking up mony, like the rest of the reviews this is a very realistic racing game and not for the anti-sim types such as NFS or SRS there are a ton of car but i look forward to more in the future as well as diff models.

Great Racer

My favorite racing simulator! Realistic cars and courses to race on real world tracks. License and skills acquisitions to simulate a real driving experience. If you have a racing wheel, it'll be the best racing experience to have on your gaming console! The only thing that I don't like is that you're not able to customize how the car looks like, however you're able to fine tune all the performance specs to make you the winning racer.

Flawless

Don't call it a racing game. It's a racing "simulator", and it could't be more right. It has the most stunning visual detail ever put into a game. The physics from gran turismo 3 surprised me, and it they nearly shocked me to death on GT4. Also, you gotta know a thing or two about cars if your going to upgrade 'em, because one little flaw in your car's settings can really put the hurt on your racing skills. If any of this fails to impress, remember that if your car isn't one of the 700+ that's featured... what the heck are you driving?
