Avast, Matey! This be yer last warning. This game will make you want to walk the plank voluntarily.

Seriously, you'd think a game with the word "Pirates" in it would be an adventurous game. However, "Pirates: Legend Of The Black Buccaneer" falls short on a few fronts. Firstly, much of the game lacks creativity especially in the gameplay area since it plays pretty much like an unispired platformer instead of an action/adventure game.

Secondly, the transformation of the main character (Francis Blade) into the dark voodoo-ish Black Buccaneer seems like a total rip from Prince of Persia. While the game isn't exactly chart topping material, it does have a few redeeming qualities. Most notably, is the fact that it does try to incorporate more puzzle solving elements into the mix than other pirate themed games. And the graphics look decent for a PS2 title.

Over all, "Pirates: Legend Of The Black Buccaneer" has a few good points, but the cons far outweigh the pros. I recommend renting this before buying.
