Lives up to the legacy.

When the first Devil May Cry hit the shelves I rented it not knowing what to expect. The feeling I got from playing the game was indescribable. The thrilling adventure into the Mcabre was a refreshing change of pace from the normal games that were out there. So I did what any natural gamer would do, I bought the game and played the hell out of it. So when the series continued I bought them the day of there release. Unfortunately 2 and 3 were a far cry from their predecessor. Distrought over the series that I had such high hopes for, I was unsure if I would even purchase the new DMC4 on release date at all. But thanks to the demo on the PS3 network, my love was rekindled.
I went to Gamestop and purchased the preorder the bext day.
And I haven't regreted it. The games graphics and smoothe storyline makes me crave this game more and more. Th boss monsters are enormous and fun to battle, the specialty missions are challenging without being rediculously hard (like DMC3) and the keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next. Add in an incredible array of new monsters, and this game is hard to resist.
However I found some of the gampely and most of the graphics are better left to the PS3 version. As is with most games made for these two systems the 360 falls short.

By far one of the best games ive played in years. If you have a PS3 or an XBOX 360 it is a must have if you like action blood swords guns and even rockets. I would say the graphics are better on the PS3 and from what i hear only PS3 will have downloadable content for the game. And the story is great compared to the games that already came out this year. Gameplay is amazing with the combos you can do and the Devil Bringer (Neros right hand) makes things amazing. A must have for 2008.

Fun, wish there were more Dante though...

Great visuals, Fluid gameplay, Top-notch voice-acting. I don't have a 360 so I can't give any opinion on the difference between the two, but I can say that something so mundane as the threads on Nero's coat were detailed. And the in-game versus cut-scene graphics were not drastically different. The cut-scenes were higher quality, but the in-game graphics still were of a high quality. Nero and Dante say some cheesy one-liners, but overall the voice acting was very satisfying. The music score really fit well with the game, and helped to set the mood. The only problem that I had with the game was that Dante didn't get equal screen time with Nero, and that there really wasn't much replayability. Though, the go through took me 15+ hours, so it's not a 'short' game. And that helps out with not really having replayability. The achievements system is a nice addition, but only offers bragging rights so far.

best so far!!

i tried the demo and thought was ok the movements seem choppy. graphics were pretty good. wouild like to try it again to get deeper into the game never did them on ps2 although i have all the onimusha games this is almost like them. i still think that noone can make the games to the ps3 potential yet just like when ps2 came out. i think we need to give it another year hopefully then that will be 3 years for ps3 then hopefully they will start making games better

Nero's demon arm alone can often get the job done, but you'll want to incorporate his Red Queen and Blue Rose (even the names are cool!) as well to unleash some devastating combos. The former is his oversized sword that actually has a motorcycle-like throttle control capable of revving up his attacks, and the latter is his double-barreled pistol that can also be upgraded for maximum punishment. As with previous DMC titles, the fun in the fight comes from stringing together over-the-top stylized combos, and these three weapons offer that opportunity in spades. With a few simple button presses he'll fire off a few rounds, jump through the air, sword swinging, and maybe finish up by thrusting his possessed arm into the skull of a nearby hell dweller. Players will continually enhance their abilities by learning new combos, earning different weapons and generally becoming bigger "badasses" by spending collected orbs on upgrades.
This fourth entry in the stylish demon-slaying series is an especially significant one; the revered franchise is not only making its next-gen debut, but it's also, for the first time, rubbing elbows with Master Chief and Marcus Fenix on the Xbox 360.
